Native to China; India; Myanmar and Thailand, the Mrs Hume’s pheasant lives in evergreen, mixed conifer-broadleaf forests on steep, often rocky hillsides. The species has been observed to feed on oak nuts and termites (Iamsiri and Gale 2004).
Threats to species:
Near threatened due to hunting for consumption and uncontrolled annual burning.
