Vietnam / Edwards Pheasant
(Lophura edwardsi)
The Vietnam pheasant inhabits what is left of the exceedingly damp mountain forests of Vietnam. It’s historical range is now almost completely denuded of primary forest through a combination of herbicide spraying during the Vietnam war, logging and clearance for agriculture. The last forested areas known to support the species are subject to continuing degradation by wood-cutters
Threats to species:
Critically endangered dur to hunting and trapping for consumption, logging activities and war.
