Golden pheasant
(Chrysolophus pictus)
The Golden pheasant is native to China and has a very large range there. They have also been introduced to the UK where it now numbers approximately 1,000-2,000 individuals.
Threats to species:
Although rated least concern, the population is declining in China owing to timber extraction, capture for the cage bird trade and over-hunting for food.
